Mobile users in Ghana can expect better value for their money as Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) begin implementing improved data bundle allocations, following a recent policy directive from the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations.
In a statement issued today by the National Communications Authority (NCA), two of the major operators, AT and Telecel, have already successfully rolled out the revised data bundles, in line with the government’s call for more consumer-friendly pricing and increased data volume allocations.
MTN Ghana, the country’s largest network, has also begun work to comply with the directive but has experienced technical issues that temporarily delayed the rollout. According to the NCA, MTN’s updated data bundles are expected to go live by midday today, July 1, 2025.

“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the public as we work to ensure a smooth rollout of the improved data bundles across all networks,” the NCA stated.
Background
The directive to review and enhance data allocations was issued by the Honourable Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations as part of broader efforts to make internet access more affordable and accessible to Ghanaians. The move is seen as a major step toward boosting digital inclusion and promoting innovation in the country’s rapidly growing digital economy.
About the NCA

It was established by Act 524 in December 1996 and later replaced by the National Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769).
The NCA continues to play a vital role in safeguarding consumer interest while promoting fair competition and innovation within Ghana’s telecommunications sector.
