Businessman and politician Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has donated a number of wheelchairs to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi to support patient care and mobility.
The donation follows a recent visit by Mr. Agyapong to the hospital, where he went to offer support to a student who had been stabbed. During the visit, he witnessed a pressing shortage of hospital beds, prompting his decision to offer assistance.
“Initially, I planned to donate hospital beds,” Mr. Agyapong explained. “However, due to supply challenges in Kumasi, I consulted with hospital management, who advised that wheelchairs would be just as essential in improving patient mobility and care.”
Presenting the wheelchairs, Mr. Agyapong emphasized the importance of investing in healthcare facilities. “Healthcare affects us all; you never know when you or a loved one might rely on these very facilities. Let’s stand together to protect and strengthen our health institutions.”
The hospital management expressed gratitude for the donation, describing it as a timely and impactful contribution to their operations.
