High voter turnout recorded in special voting exercise at Ningo-Prampram

The special voting exercise in the Ningo-Prampram constituency recorded a high voter turnout, reflecting the readiness of eligible voters to participate in the democratic process.

A total of 711 voters representing over 85 per cent of the expected 828 eligible voters on the special voters’ register cast their vote.

A total of 348 made up of 204 males and 144 females cast their ballots at Centre ‘A’ while 363 comprising 213, and 150 males and females respectively participated in Centre ‘B’.

The turnout underscores the determination of security personnel, election officials, and media practitioners to fulfil their civic duties ahead of the December 7 general elections.

Mr Charles Botwe, the Ningo-Prampram Electoral Officer, mentioned that the Electoral Commission ensured the smooth conduct of the exercise by deploying biometric verification devices and adequate logistical support.

He added that security arrangements were also in place to maintain order, contributing to the incident-free nature of the voting process.

He said the process had been smooth without any incidents,” he added.

Mr Botwe said, the challenge they faced had to do with some voters not finding their names in the voter register since they did not visit the district office to verify their names as required.

Some voters who spoke with to the Ghana News Agency, some voters expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, noting the efficiency of the process and the professionalism of the officials.

The special voting exercise, organised nationwide, allowed personnel who would be on duty during the general elections to cast their votes early.
