Five Police Officers Interdicted Over Misconduct on Social Media

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted five of its officers for acts of misconduct involving the unauthorized use of police uniforms on social media platforms.

According to an official press release issued by the Service, the affected officers are:

  • No. 45545 G/Sgt. Samuel Agbemanyale
  • No. 50300 G/Cpl. Isaac Mpere
  • No. 51816 G/Cpl. Samuel Agbo
  • No. 56563 G/Cpl. Charles Oduro
  • No. 14494 PW/Const. Elizabeth Dicka Korkor

The interdiction follows allegations that the officers used their police uniforms for purposes not sanctioned by the Service, particularly on social media, an act considered a breach of professional conduct and regulations governing the use of official attire.

The Police Administration stated that the officers have been referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) for further investigations. Appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken based on the outcome of the investigations.

The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline, professionalism, and ethical conduct among its personnel, especially in the use of social media, and assured the public that misconduct will be dealt with firmly in accordance with established procedures.
