Ghana Condemns Alleged U.S. Military Invasion of Venezuela, Calls for Release of President Maduro

The Government of Ghana has expressed grave concern and strong condemnation over what it describes as the unilateral and unauthorised military invasion of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela by the United States of America, as well as the subsequent abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana said the incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Saturday, January 3, 2026, and constitutes a serious violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. Ayawaso East MP Mahama Naser Toure Passes Away After Illness

The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, has died after a period of illness at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. A four-term legislator, Mr. Toure served in several important capacities in Parliament. He was Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee and also a member of the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, as well as the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee. The Second Deputy Majority Whip, Richard Acheampong, confirmed that the late MP will be buried today at his residence in Nima, Accra, in accordance with Islamic rites.

Menuso Bridge Wall Repaired After Vehicle Damage

At least two people lost their lives and 21 others sustained injuries on the night of January 1, 2025, following a serious road traffic accident involving a bus transporting church members along the Assin Fosu–Kumasi highway in the Central Region.
