Fidelity Bank’s Chief Risk Officer urges banks to stay abreast of digital innovations

 Dr. David Animante, Chief Risk Officer at Fidelity Bank Ghana, has urged banks to keep pace with “digital disruptions” led by financial technology (Fintech) and telecommunications companies.  Speaking at the 28th National Banking and Ethics Conference, he said traditional model of banking was being replaced with digital wallets, QR codes, and point-of-sale systems, therefore, financial institutions should catch up with the trend. PWDs at North Tongu receive assorted items from government  

The Government, through the North Tongu District Assembly in the Volta Region, has distributed assorted items to 55 persons with disability (PWDs) in the district to promote inclusivity and empowerment. The items included industrial sewing machines, ice chests, bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, cassava grinding machines, wheelchairs, gas ovens, deep freezers, and sacks of charcoal. The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has on Monday, 25 November 2024, commissioned four(4) of the five(5), 40-bed District Hospitals in the Ashanti region. The four District Hospitals in the Ashanti region are located at, Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains District; Sabronum, in the Ahafo Ano South East District; Twedie, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District and Suame, in the Suame Municipal area. School Feeding Programme: Bono East NIB seizes smuggled rice, arrest driver

The National Investigation Bureau (NIB) in the Bono East has intercepted a Kia-Rhino Truck loaded with quantities of food items allegedly meant for distribution, under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP). The truck with registration number AS 9584-14 was alleged to be smuggling 56 bags of 50 kilogramme ‘Lucy branded Rice’ to be supplied to Jema Senior High School in the Kintampo South District and Kintampo Senior High School in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Region. The Ghana News Agency (GNA) learnt the driver of the truck had since been arrested as investigations continued.
