POLICE FOIL ROBBERY ATTEMPT ALONG EJURA–NKORANZA HIGHWAY; ONE SUSPECT DEAD

The Ghana Police Service has successfully foiled a planned robbery attack along the Ejura–Nkoranza Highway following an intelligence-led operation near Mimenaso No. 2 in the Ashanti Region. According to a police report, the operation took place on 9th April 2026 when a special team moved to a bushy area after receiving intelligence that a six-member armed robbery gang was preparing to ambush and rob unsuspecting commuters along the stretch. Police Arrest Suspect Over Viral Video in Police Uniform

The Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team has arrested a suspect in connection with a viral social media video in which she was seen wearing a Police uniform. The suspect, identified as Esther Obasi, was captured in the widely circulated footage dressed in official Police camouflage as well as a standard black Police uniform, raising concerns over unauthorized use of official security apparel. According to preliminary investigations, officers established a link between the suspect and a serving Police officer.
