Amsterdam Rabobank rose to the top, defeating Liman 21 – 12 to win the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Bucharest 2025 on November 9.
The Dutch went unbeaten all the way, getting the job done against numerous contenders, including sides like Chongming and Skyliners, who will compete in the World Tour Manama Final in under two weeks. They last defeated Miami in a 16 – 15 thriller to clinch their spot into the final.
They would face Liman, who looked just as dominant, going through numerous close battles, including their semi-final bout against Riffa that ended 21 – 20, capped off by Mr. Clutch himself, Andreja Milutinovic.
In the final, Amsterdam Rabobank got the scores ticking early, Worthy de Jong drilling from deep and drawing fouls. Both teams relied on their defense in the initial third of the game as Liman would struggle to get their shot going.
The Serbians would rely on crafty work in the paint for their scoring, along with the occasional twos, but the Dutch went to Bryan Alberts, who caught fire, launching two after two to hand Amsterdam a 14 – 8 advantage just over halfway into the action.
Liman tried to answer back, but the Dutch offense had far too much momentum. Alberts kept on his scoring frenzy, leading the way for a Worthy de Jong dagger, which sealed the game 21 – 12 in one of the most dominant final performances of the season. The reigning World Tour Final winners would claim their first stop of the season just in time for the World Tour Manama Final on November 21 – 22.
While Bryan Alberts was the star of the show in the final, there was no overlooking Worthy and his impact on Amsterdam’s success throughout the tournament. He finished the tournament as top scorer with 33 points, 7 of them coming in the final. He led in player value by a wide margin, a 50.2 score that showcased his role on both ends of the game. Hype Worthy earned MVP plaudits in the Dutch’s stop-winning run in Bucharest.
In the individual contests, Carolina’s Bryan Gonzalez won the shoot-out contest presented by CS Rapid Bucharest. In the dunk contest also presented by CS Rapid Bucharest, Rafal “Lipek” Lipinski, in his final-ever dunk contest, came through with the win.
