A high-level delegation from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, to discuss the organisation’s intentions as it prepares to formally establish operations in Ghana.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Health in Accra, the AHF team briefed the Minister on the foundation’s global work in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and advocacy. They expressed their commitment to supporting Ghana’s national response to HIV through strategic partnerships, public health interventions, and expanded access to quality healthcare services.
Hon. Akandoh welcomed the delegation and commended AHF’s interest in contributing to the country’s health sector. He stressed the government’s commitment to strengthening HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment efforts, highlighting the importance of collaboration with reputable international organisations.

The Minister expressed optimism that AHF’s entry into Ghana would help boost ongoing initiatives aimed at improving testing coverage, reducing new infections, and providing comprehensive care for persons living with HIV.
AHF is one of the world’s largest non-profit organisations focused on HIV/AIDS care, operating in more than 40 countries. Its planned presence in Ghana is expected to enhance resources, community outreach, and technical support within the national health system.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing eagerness to work together toward a strengthened and more resilient healthcare response for the Ghanaian population.
