Tema Central NDC NPP parliamentary candidates happy with special voting procedure

The Tema Central parliamentary candidates for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have commended the smooth conduct of the special voting in the constituency.

Mr Charles Forson of the NPP and Ms Ebi Bright of the NDC, who visited the Community Eight Police Station special voting polling centre during the election, said the elections had been smooth and peaceful.

Tema Central constituency has 457 electorates on the special voters register out of the total of 68,191 voters on the general voters’ register.

Mr Forson, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the centre, urged the electorates to vote massively for him to retain the seat for the NPP.

He said his seven-pillar policies were realistic and had been accepted by the people of Tema Central, giving him the confidence that it would influence their votes.

He added that throughout his campaign, he had noted several issues in the area, such as security and sewage problems, which he and his team had already started working on to give the people the assurance that he could hold the position.

Again, he believed he had emerged victorious already because his opponent was not as active as he was, claiming she only showed up when there was an election.

Mr Forson thanked the voters for coming out in their numbers to vote and called on the others to also fully participate on December 7.

Ms Bright, on the other hand, said she had been very active, working closely with the people of Tema Central to bring to the fore some issues affecting them and to find solutions to them.

She expressed belief that Ghanaians would look at the way the economy was going and vote for a leader who would make things better for them.

She thanked the security personnel for working hard, ensuring peace on the grounds, and also urged all voters to come out in their numbers to vote.
