Toronto’s iconic Yonge-Dundas Square has officially been renamed Sankofa Square, in a historic ceremony that coincided with the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.
The event, marked with cultural performances and speeches, drew dignitaries, community leaders, and global representatives.
