Public advised to avoid lifestyle diseases

Dr Malcolm Mambuoraa Dery, a Medical Doctor at Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), has advised the public to avoid lifestyle diseases, which are primarily based on daily habits. He advised the citizenry to control their daily habits and lifestyles to prevent multiple medical issues such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, mellitus, stroke, heart related diseases and certain forms of cancers. Dr Dery, who is also a Neurosurgeon at TTH, was speaking during an awareness creation on health at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tamale. Tamale Teaching Hospital: Doctors suspend emergency and outpatient services over Minister’s conduct, poor conditions

The Doctors Association of Tamale Teaching Hospital (DATTH) has declared an indefinite suspension of emergency and outpatient services, effective immediately. This decision follows an emergency meeting held on April 23, 2025, in response to longstanding operational challenges and a recent altercation involving the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and a senior doctor at the facility.
