Disability Federation urges PwDs to quit alms-begging, access Disability fund
The Ghana Federation of Disability Organization has cautioned People with Disabilities (PwDs) to quit alms-begging on the street and accessing the Disability Funds to live decent lives. Instead, Madam Sirina Mahamadu, the National Vice President of the Federation who gave the advice, urged the PwDs to apply for the Disability Fund to find something worth doing and thereby live decent and dignified lives. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, she entreated the PwDs to apply for the fund through the Federation and other registered and recognised disability groups and engage in viable economic activities to improve the socio-economic livelihoods.
