Police arrest five more suspects in Asemkor murder case

The Western Regional Police Command has intensified its investigation into the gruesome murder of John Abban at Asemkor in the Agona Nkwanta District, arresting five additional suspects believed to be connected to the crime. According to a police statement, the latest arrests were made at various hideouts across the region. On Thursday, October 23, 2025, police apprehended Kwabena Asirifi, 50, at his hideout in the Ampataano community near Asemkor. Suspect Arrested in Gruesome Murder Case at Abuakwa

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested 34-year-old Robert Kwabena Boamah in connection with the brutal murder of a 23-year-old woman in Abuakwa. According to a press release from the Public Affairs Unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters, Boamah was apprehended on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at his hideout in Namong, near Offinso. His arrest follows investigations into the murder of Dorothy Owusu Annor, also known as Maa Dabea, whose body was discovered on Monday, April 21 near the Mighty Jesus Educational Complex in the Tanoso Electoral area of the Kwadaso Municipality. Kuntunse murder case adjourned to February 20 

The case of Constable Smith Gyekyi, the policeman accused of shooting a man at Kuntunse over alleged transport fare dispute, has been adjourned to February 20.  At a district court at Kotobabi in Accra, prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Apewa Achana, told the court that they were still awaiting the Attorney General’s advice on the matter after forwarding a duplicate to the said office.  Chief Inspector Achana, therefore, prayed for a date.  Meanwhile the Ghana News Agency has gathered that Constable Gyekyi, last year, obtained a GHC 200,000 bail from a high court in Accra.  She is being held for the murder of one Stanley Ahadzi.  The court has preserved his plea.  On Sunday, August 18, 2024, at about 0400 hours, the police received information t...
