The Stakeholder Committee set up to evaluate DStv pricing in Ghana has been granted a one-week extension to conclude its work. The Committee, which began its activities on September 8, 2025, was tasked with reviewing the cost of DStv services in the country and addressing key concerns raised by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations. The Committee’s mandate includes achieving a shared understanding of DStv pricing in Ghana and proposing mutually acceptable, commercially viable measures that respond to the Minister’s concerns. NCA Moves to Suspend Multichoice Ghana’s Pay TV Authorisation Over Pricing Concerns

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has officially notified Multichoice Ghana Limited of its intention to suspend the company’s Subscription Management Service Authorisation for its Satellite Television Broadcasting (Pay TV Direct-to-Home Bouquet). The NCA is acting under Section 13 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), which allows the Authority to take such regulatory measures when service providers are found to be in breach of conditions that protect consumer rights or public interest. Multichoice Ghana has been given a 30-day window to respond. Within this pe...

Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Hon. In a statement released on Monday, Sam George declared that DStv Ghana’s response to public uproar over its recent 15% price increase only confirms his long-standing concerns — that the company does not take the Ghanaian people seriously. Drawing a comparison with Nigeria, the lawmaker noted that MultiChoice Nigeria was compelled to reverse similar price increases after legal action by Nigerian authorities and intervention by the House of Representatives. “They complied in Nigeria, but have chosen to ignore Ghanai...
