Anlo State marks 63rd Hogbetsotso Festival, call for unity, development 

The Chiefs and People of the Anlo State on Saturday celebrated the 63rd edition of the Hogbetsotso Festival on the theme: “Building Bridges: From a Common History to a Common Destiny.”  The grand durbar, marked with rich cultural displays, attracted thousands from the 36 states of Anlo, as well as government officials, Members of the Council of State, former and current Members of Parliament, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, and other dignitaries.  Mr. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff and special guest, commended the people of Anlo for preserving the authenticity of their cultural heritage.  “I am always happy to visit the Volta Region because I consider it a strong home of our political tradition,” he said.   “Your dance, your performance...

Hogbetsotso Festival 2025 Kicks Off with Months of Culture, Unity and Heritage

The Anlo Dukor Council, in collaboration with the Ghana Exim Bank, has officially launched activities for the 2025 edition of the historic Hogbetsotso Festival, one of Ghana’s most celebrated cultural events. This year’s festival is being observed under the theme: “Building Bridges: From Common History to a Common Destiny.” The celebrations, which began with the grand launch at Ohawu on August 30, 2025, will span three months and feature a rich lineup of cultural, educational, religious, and entertainment activities across the Anlo State in the Volta Region.
