The Ghana Police Service has arrested seven persons in connection with a highway robbery incident that occurred along the Tamale–Buipe Highway in the Savannah Region on July 21, 2025. The suspects have been identified as Rashida Yusif, Aaron Abana Baswiefanga, Wilson Avasong, Muntaru Iddrisu, also known as Virgin, Aminu Zebrilla, also known as Birdman, Inusah Sumaila, also known as Agenda, and Haruna Safiano. The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has gunned down three suspected armed robbers to prevent a planned highway robbery along the Anwiankwanta–Obuasi Highway in the Ashanti Region. The suspects, identified as Seidu Issah, Musah Yakubu, and Yahaya Munkaila, also known as Tijani, were gunned down on 24th December 2025 when they converged in a bush between Anwiankwanta and the Jacobu junction to carry out a planned operation.
