Free eye screening and cataract surgery for 1,000 people ends in Ellembelle
About 1000 people in the Ellembelle District have been screened for eye related diseases and cataract surgery under the mobile clinic initiative of Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for the area.
Five hundred of the people were diagnosed with cataract.
The-three-week exercise brought together medical experts from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in collaboration with experts at the Saint Martin De Porres Hospital at Eikwe and Daybreak Vision Foundation.
Speaking at the end of the exercise, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah said “I am delighted to announce the successful conclusion of our free eye screening and cataract surgery programme across the three Nzema districts”.
