Ellembelle District - Ghana News Express

About 1000 people in the Ellembelle District have been screened for eye related diseases and cataract surgery under the mobile clinic initiative of Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for the area. Five hundred of the people were diagnosed with cataract. The-three-week exercise brought together medical experts from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in collaboration with experts at the Saint Martin De Porres Hospital at Eikwe and Daybreak Vision Foundation. Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, has donated business start-up kits, cash and assorted items to 50 physically challenged persons and others who have completed apprenticeship training programmes in the Ellembelle District. The donation was as part of the livelihood empowerment support programme. The items include ice-chests, gas cylinders, fufu machines, deep freezers, corn mills, dolmar chain saw machines and flat screen television sets, among others.
