ARMADILLO GLOWS IN INDIAN COLOURS AS GLASGOW CELEBRATES AMDAVAD 2030

To mark the announcement that Amdavad will host the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games, the SEC Armadillo, an icon of the Glasgow Clydebank and Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games venue, was lit up in the Indian flag. The Clyde Arc was also illuminated in gold to commemorate Glasgow handing the baton to Amdavad, India for the Centenary Games. Scotland's leading Commonwealth Games medallist, Duncan Scott OBE, and India's Commonwealth boxing medallist, Jaismine Lamboria, were captured as part of celebrations.

AMDAVAD, INDIA RECOMMENDED AS HOST CITY FOR THE 2030 CENTENARY COMMONWEALTH GAMES

Board confirms continued work with Nigeria to realise ambition to host Games in Africa. The Executive Board of Commonwealth Sport has today confirmed that it will recommend Amdavad, India, as the proposed host city for the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games.  Amdavad (also known as Ahmedabad, in the Indian state of Gujarat), will now be put forward to the full Commonwealth Sport membership, with the final decision taking place at the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow on 26 November 2025.
