Police Arrest Four in Connection with Murder of Tanoso Chief

The Ghana Police Service has arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of the Akwamuhene of Tanoso in the Bono East Region.

The suspects — identified as Issifu Addae, alias Akwasi Addae; Stephen Gyamfi; Augustine Arhinful; and Martha Mansah — were picked up following ongoing investigations into the tragic incident. Police say four other individuals have been named as persons of interest and are currently being pursued.

According to preliminary investigations, the deceased chief had been destooled as the Akwamuhene of Tanoso but reportedly refused to accept the decision. This led to multiple legal battles and family disputes, which police believe may be connected to the circumstances surrounding his death.

The four suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the remaining suspects.

The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that all individuals involved will face the full rigours of the law once investigations are complete.
