The Ministry of Education has extended heartfelt congratulations to the University for Development Studies (UDS) football team for qualifying for the finals of the 2025 World University Games currently underway in Dalian, China.
In a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Honourable Minister, the Ministry described the team’s historic feat as a shining example of discipline, hard work, resilience, and teamwork. It emphasized that the success of the UDS football team reflects the power of unity and the indomitable spirit of Ghana.
“Every pass, every effort, and every sacrifice on the field reflect not only your commitment to excellence but also the strength of togetherness. This remarkable achievement has brought immense pride and honour to the entire nation,” the statement read.
The Ministry further noted that the milestone provides an opportunity for Ghana to make history on the global stage, adding that victory in the final would inspire not only Ghana but also the African continent.
The Honourable Minister, according to the release, has also taken inspiration from the team’s success, pledging to rejuvenate school sports across second-cycle institutions, colleges, and universities to unearth more talent for the nation.
“As the final match approaches, the Ministry of Education and the people of Ghana stand firmly behind you, offering unwavering support and encouragement. We are confident that you can bring the championship home,” the statement concluded.
The UDS football team’s qualification has positioned Ghana in the spotlight at the prestigious global competition, raising high hopes for a gold medal triumph.
