Kadjebi DCE applaud residents for sustain peace in the district 

Dr. Sam Issaka Suraj, the Kadjebi District Chief Executive (DCE), has commended residents for their efforts in maintaining stability within the district after the December 7, 2024, polls. 

He highlighted the importance of peace in fostering development and cooperation among community members. 

Dr. Suraj made these remarks at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Interdenominational Church Service at the Kadjebi Post Office Square, Kadjebi in the Oti Region on Sunday, July 6. 

He acknowledged that the commitment and collaboration of the residents have been instrumental in preventing conflicts and promoting harmony. 

The DCE praised the Chiefs, local leaders, youth groups, and various organisations for their proactive roles in conflict resolution and community engagement. 

Dr. Suraj reiterated that sustained peace is vital for the successful implementation of development programmes and initiatives in the district. 

He urged residents to continue fostering unity and understanding while ensuring that any grievances are addressed through dialogue and cooperation. 

He expressed confidence that with continued efforts towards peace, Kadjebi would witness further growth and development, benefit all residents, and create a better future for the district.  

Rev. Vincent Darkpo, Chairman of the Kadjebi District Local Council Churches, acknowledged the role of divine intervention in maintaining peace within the nation. 

He emphasized that the peace enjoyed in the country is not merely a result of human efforts but also a manifestation of God’s grace. 

Rev. Darkpo highlighted the importance of prayer, unity, and faith in fostering a peaceful environment, urging all citizens to remain committed to spiritual and moral values that promote harmony. 

The Chairman reflected on the challenges that the nation has faced but reassured the congregants that through collective faith and reliance on God, the country would overcome adversity. 

He also encouraged local churches to continue their work in community building, stressing that religious institutions play a crucial role in promoting peace and understanding among different groups. 

Rev. Darkpo called for ongoing collaboration among various faith communities to support peace initiatives and foster a spirit of coexistence. 

He reaffirmed that as long as the people remain steadfast in their faith and commitment to God, peace will continue to prevail in the nation. The Church Service organised by the Kadjebi District Assembly, in collaboration with the Local Council of Churches aimed at thanking God for the peaceful conduct of the 2024 polls.
