Her Excellency Lordina Dramani Mahama is currently in Washington, D.C., at the invitation of the First Lady of the United States, to participate in the “Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit.”
The two-day international summit, convened by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, brings together first spouses from across the world to deliberate on strategies aimed at building a safer, more secure, and equitable digital environment for children globally.
The gathering focuses on addressing the opportunities and risks presented by rapidly advancing technology, with an emphasis on ensuring that digital innovation serves as a tool for empowerment rather than harm, especially for young people.

Speaking ahead of the summit, Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to child protection in the digital age. She stated:
“Ghana stands ready to ensure technology becomes a force for empowerment, not endangerment, for every child. Our children’s future is our shared moral duty and generational responsibility.”
The summit is expected to foster global collaboration among participating first spouses and stakeholders to develop practical frameworks and initiatives that promote child safety, digital literacy, and responsible technology use.
Washington, D.C. continues to host high-level diplomatic and policy engagements focused on global development priorities, with the summit adding to its role as a key center for international dialogue.
