NPA Warns Against Illegal Storage and Sale of Petroleum Products

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has issued a strong warning to individuals and businesses engaged in the illicit storage and marketing of petroleum products, urging them to comply with regulatory requirements or face sanctions. In a public notice issued on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the NPA reminded the public that under Section 11 of the National Petroleum Authority Act, 2005 (Act 691) as amended, no person is permitted to operate in the petroleum downstream industry without a valid license issued by the Authority’s Board. Ghana Armed Forces Cautions Media Over Speculative Reports on Military Helicopter Crash

Manhyia Palace Bans All Funerals in Asanteman on August 21

The Manhyia Palace has announced a ban on all funerals across Asanteman on Thursday, August 21, 2025, to enable the Asantehene, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the people of Asanteman to observe the One Week Celebration of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III. The Asantehene officially informed the Asanteman Council of the Queen Mother’s passing on Monday, August 11, 2025. Nana Konadu Yiadom III died peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The One Week Celebration will take place at Bogyawe, Manhyia Palace, from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. on the same day. The notice, signed by Ambassador Nana Effah-Apenteng, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, urged the general public to comply with the directive in honour of the late Queen Mother.

Rotary Club of Navrongo donates GH₵500,000 ICU equipment to WMH 

The Rotary Club of Navrongo has donated a complete set of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) equipment worth about GH₵500,000 to the War Memorial Hospital (WMH) in Navrongo to improve emergency healthcare delivery. The donation forms part of the Club’s ICU Support Project, launched on August 10, 2024, with an initial equipment cost estimate of GH₵112,000.  The package includes a modern ICU ventilator, fully electric automated hospital beds with remote controls, a hospital syringe pump, a biphasic defibrillator, a BG-800A blood gas analyser, a BKE auto-loader serum electrolyte analyser, a KT-SP750 infusion pump, and a 12.1-inch multi-parameter ICU patient monitor. NCA Suspends Nine Radio Stations Over Regulatory Infractions

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has suspended the operations of nine radio stations across Ghana for various breaches of broadcasting regulations. The action follows the expiration of a 30-day grace period granted by President John Dramani Mahama, which allowed defaulting stations to address violations of the laws and regulations governing FM radio broadcasting in the country. According to the NCA, six stations “failed, refused and neglected” to comply with the regulatory amnesty, taking no action within the stipulated period.
