Walewale curfew: 2 injured, shops vandalised in alleged military brutality at Gbimsi

One individual has suffered a broken wrist and another has been left with a swollen eye after military personnel allegedly brutalised them at Gbimsi, near Walewale in the North East Region. The incident occurred as the military enforced a curfew in the area. The victims have since been treated and discharged. This brings the total number of alleged military brutality incidents to 10 in the past week since the curfew was imposed. Dr Tia Mahama Kabiru, the Member of Parliament for the area, condemned the military’s actions after visiting the victims and reiterated his call to the Ministry of the Interior to lift the curfew and offer respite to his constituents urgently. One soldier dead, six others injured in military vehicle crash near Zebilla  

One soldier has died while six others sustained varying degrees of injuries, after a fatal road crash at Saka near Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.  The incident which involved a Ghana Armed Forces light-armoured vehicle is said to have occurred around 1600 hours on Saturday, February 22, 2025.  Eyewitness account to the Ghana News Agency, indicated that the vehicle was moving from the direction of Bawku towards Bolgatanga at top speed, when one of its tyres suddenly detached from it, causing the driver to lose control, leading to the accident.   The identities of the deceased and the other officers are yet to be made known, however the injured soldiers were rushed to the Zebilla government hospital for treatment and later airlifted to Ac...

Pastor condemns growing trend of indiscipline in SHSs, calls for radical measures

Pupils of Nii Oglie Model '1' Basic School at Nmlitsakpo in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality, have been sensitised on the dangers of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and teenage pregnancy.
