Tema Metro Education Directorate initiates self-help office project

Regional Maritime University inaugurates 50-bed capacity hostel, video conferencing facilities

The Board of Governors of the Regional Maritime University (RMU) has inaugurated a 50-bed capacity hostel and an ultra-modern video conferencing facility for the University. These facilities were sponsored by the Republic of Sierra Leone and Republic of Liberia respectively to support and promote maritime education in the sub-region. Over 3,000 candidates to write 2025 BECE in Tema Metro

A total of 3,820 registered candidates are to sit for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Tema Metropolis. The 2025, unlike previous years, is expected to commence on a Wednesday, June 11, 2025, a shift from the usual Monday start. Mrs Bernice Ofori, the Tema Metro Education Director, told the GNA that all preparations had been put in place to ensure a successful, incident-free BECE. Mrs Ofori noted that the 3,820 registered candidates comprised 2,345 public school candidates and 1,475 are from private basic schools within the metropolis.
