Three Arrested in Connection with Robbery and Murder of Mobile Money Vendors in Ashanti Region

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected of being involved in the brutal robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the Ashanti Region.

According to the police, the first incident occurred on Thursday, 13th February 2025, in Krofrom around noon, where the victim, Patricia Nimako, was attacked and fatally shot. Her assailants also made away with an undisclosed amount of money.

A second attack took place on the night of Monday, 10th March 2025, in Kwadaso. The victim, identified as Gideon Owusu Sarpong, popularly known as “Junior,” was also robbed and murdered at his residence.

Following investigations, police arrested three suspects on 21st March 2025. The individuals were identified as Charles Kwame Danso, 23, also known as “Kwame Charles” or “Miami,” Philip Foujour, 29, and Samuel Addae Mensah, 42. The arrests were made in Pankrono and Atimatim.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned soon. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to apprehend a fourth suspect, Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah or “Baba Macho.” Police believe he is hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, or Diaso in the Central Region or Accra.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command is urging the public to assist in locating the fugitive. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Police on toll-free numbers 191 or 112 (MTN and Telecel users can also use 18555).

Deputy Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, who signed the statement, assured the public of the Command’s commitment to justice and called for continued vigilance and cooperation from residents.
