Ashanti Region Police Recover Weapons and Ammunition from Abandoned Vehicle
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has launched investigations into the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition after a patrol team from the Kuntanase District intercepted an abandoned vehicle loaded with weapons on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
According to police reports, officers conducting routine patrols along the Aputuagya-Bekwai road spotted a white Toyota Sienta, with registration number NR 289-24, suspiciously parked near a bushy roadside.
Two men were seen standing by the vehicle, allegedly smoking a substance suspected to be narcotics. However, upon noticing the approaching police team, the men bolted into the nearby bush and managed to evade arrest despite a chase by the officers.
