Police apprehend five suspects in connection with murder at Asemkor

The Western Regional Police Command has arrested five individuals in connection with the murder of Mr. John Abban at Asemkor, a community in the Agona Nkwanta District of the Western Region. According to a statement issued by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Western Regional Police Command, Superintendent Olivia E. T. Adiku, the incident occurred on October 6, 2025, following a chieftaincy dispute in the area. The deceased, Mr. Abban, was reportedly the brother of the Chief of Butre and Asemkor. Following the incident, the suspects fled the community and went into hiding. GJA election takes off smoothly in Takoradi  

The national and regional Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) election has taken off smoothly at the Takoradi Press Centre, the venue for the Western Regional voting centre.   A total of  20 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots to elect the next National and Western Regional executives of the GJA.   The election was being supervised by officials of the Western Region Electoral Commission (EC), with a representative of the GJA present to monitor proceedings.  When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the voting centre as of 1010 hours, it observed that the process was progressing steadily with seven persons having cast their votes.  Mr George Folley, a voter, who spoke to the GNA after casting his ballot,  expressed satisfaction about the ...

The Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Takoradi, has celebrated mothers at a special ceremony held at the church premises. The Women’s Ministry of the church presented a token of love to Mrs. Edzordzinam Amedeka, wife of the Resident Minister, in appreciation of her motherly role to the members of the church.
