Mr Adamu Bening Yakubu, the Sissala East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has underscored the importance of more empowerment of rural women to achieve food sovereignty and community resilience. Mr Yakubu made the call when he represented the Sissala East Municipality at the Nimaru Festival held at the provincial capital of Sissili in Burkina Faso. The festival, which was held under the theme: “Rural Women and Food Sovereignty Building Community Resilience Through Agriculture, Livestock and Civic Engagement”. All eleven paramountcies in the Sissala enclave have congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on his election victory to run the affairs of the country the second time. In a statement issued in Tumu signed by all the chiefs on Monday and copied the GNA pledged to offer the president good counsel and the necessary support for him to succeed. The eleven paramountcies included Tumu, Wellembelle, Gwollu, Zini, Pulima, Banu, Bawiesibelle, Lambussie, Kojikperie, Funsi and Kundugu.
