SHSs Heads in Bono East assure parents of adequate feedimy

Some Heads of Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the Bono East Region have assured parents and guardians of adequate feeding in the schools.They said there was no cause of alarm, urging parents to remain calm as their children returned to school.In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to some of the SHSs in the Techiman Metropolis, the heads confirmed they had in store some food items to feed the students.The assurance came in the wake of perceived shortage of food items in some SHSs in the Metropolis. Mr Mose Kofi Adu, the Headmaster for Techiman Senior High School, described the alleged shortage of food items as false and unfounded, and allayed the fears of the parents and guardians, saying “we have in stock the required food items to feed the students in the term”.He ...

GES maintains SHS reopening date amid CHASS concerns

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reaffirmed the reopening date for Senior High Schools (SHSs) as January 3, 2025, despite calls from the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) for a postponement over unresolved financial concerns.   In a press release issued on January 2, 2025, the Head of the Public Relations Unit at GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, reiterated that the 2024/25 academic calendar remains unchanged. She stated, “As previously announced, SHS students are expected to report back to school on January 3, 2025, while primary and Junior High Schools will reopen on January 8, 2025.
