Samira joins WHO high level coalition on health and energy

The Second Lady of Ghana, Samira Bawumia has joined the High Level Coalition on Health and Energy, convened by the World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus. The objective of this coalition is to strengthen high-level cooperation between health and energy sectors, increase political momentum, spur investments, mobilise public support and drive practical solutions for clean cooking and sustainable energy services in health facilities. Samira Bawumia convoy involved in accident at Ofoase Kokoben

Three people are in critical condition, with seven others injured after the convoy of Second Lady, Mrs Samira Bawumia, was involved in an accident at Ofoase Kokoben near Anwiankwanta in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region. The accident, which involved one of the cars in the convoy with registration number GN 4096 -20 and a Toyota Hilux pick-up with registration number AS 4247-17, occurred around 6: 30 pm, Monday. Samira Bawumia supports Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research

Second Lady, Mrs. Samira Bawumia, has supported the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hand sanitizers and some assorted items. The NMIMR, being the foremost testing center for the coronavirus disease in Ghana, is playing a critical role in the country's resolve to contain the virus. The center has so far conducted tens of thousands of COVID 19 tests and has contributed to national efforts to identify people with the virus in order to isolate them from the public. Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research R identified the first two cases of COVID 19 in the country on March 12.

Samira Bawumia supports poor and needy

Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has made donations to needy and vulnerable persons in Nima and Maamobi in Accra. Mrs Samira Bawumia, through her not-for-profit organisation, the Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP) made donations to the Maamobi General Hospital and Nima Polyclinic in the Ayawaso North and East municipalities respectively in Accra. The purpose of the donation is to support vulnerable persons affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. Both communities have so far recorded cases of COVID 19
