Police Arrest Three Over Fake U.S. Dollar Notes in Eastern Region
The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals for allegedly possessing a large quantity of counterfeit U.S. dollar notes at Larsi, a community in Odumase-Krobo in the Eastern Region.
According to a statement from the Eastern Regional Command, the suspects—Ebenezer Narh-Tsu, 20; George Attor, 48; and Bishop Robert Olertey, 54—were apprehended on March 11, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Odumase-Krobo District Police.
The operation led officers to a hideout in Larsi, where they retrieved 105 bundles of suspected forged $100 notes reportedly concealed in a student’s trunk.
Police further disclosed that one of the suspects, Bishop Robert Olertey, allegedly attempted to bribe the arresting officers with an amount of GH₵20,000. The officers declined...
