Baerbock predicts new German government will support Ukraine

Outgoing Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock expects the new German government to continue to support Ukraine in resisting the full-scale Russian invasion.
Speaking to the Sunday edition of Germany's mass-circulation Bild newspaper, Baerbock said: "No German government devoted to the security of Germany and Europe will abandon the people of Ukraine."
Germany goes to the polls on February 23, after Chancellor Olaf Scholz's three-party coalition fell apart in early November. The elections are being held as Ukraine marks three years since the invasion on February 24, 2022.
