Police arrest five suspected armed robbers in Sefwi Bekwai

The Western North Regional Police Command has arrested five individuals suspected to be involved in a series of robbery incidents in Sefwi Bekwai and nearby communities. The suspects — Iddrisu Abdalla (20), Abdul Rahaman Abubakar (21), Okasha Mohammed (19), Toffic Bawa (24), and Richard Gyapong (35) — were picked up during an intelligence-led surveillance operation in the area. According to police, three of the suspects were intercepted while riding an unregistered motorbike. When they failed to stop at the Mpesiem Police snap checkpoint, officers pursued and arrested them. The incident occurred on Friday, December 5, 2025, when a mob of about thirty (30) youth attacked police officers who were in the community conducting investigations.
