Ministry of Health Begins Equitable Distribution of Doctors Nationwide

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the commencement of an exercise to ensure the equitable and fair distribution of doctors across all regions and districts in Ghana.

According to a statement signed by Tonny Goodman, Head of Health Training Institutions, the Ministry has urged doctors currently undergoing the recruitment process to accept postings to available vacancies in regional and district hospitals across the country.

The move forms part of the Ministry’s broader commitment to improve the balanced distribution of health professionals and enhance access to quality healthcare nationwide.

“This exercise is part of the Ministry’s broader commitment to improve evenly distribution of health professionals to ensure quality healthcare delivery nationwide,” the statement noted.

The Ministry emphasized that all postings are being handled strictly through the official online recruitment portal, warning that no individual or group has been authorized to collect money or influence the placement process in any way.

It cautioned eligible doctors against engaging with middlemen or making payments to anyone claiming to fast-track or alter their postings.

Reaffirming its goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the Ministry stated that it remains committed to maintaining an equitable distribution policy to ensure that all districts, including rural and underserved areas, benefit from adequate medical personnel.

All qualified doctors have been encouraged to visit the official Ministry of Health website to complete their registration process before the approved deadline on the portal.
