MultiChoice Ghana Responds to Minister’s Comments on DStv Pricing

MultiChoice Ghana, operators of DStv, has issued a formal response to recent remarks made by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Mr. Samuel Nartey George, concerning the company’s pricing structure in Ghana. Catholic Priest advocates extension of retirement age for Supreme Court Judges 

A Catholic Priest has advocated the extension of retirement age for Supreme Court (SC) Judges, as the 2025 Constitution Review Committee (CRC) upscales public engagement on the constitutional reforms.  The Reverend Father Joseph Domfeh, the Administrator of Christ the King Cathedral in Sunyani, recommended that the retirement age of the SC Judges ought to be extended from the current 70 to 80 years.  He also called for a reduction in the number of Members of Parliament (MPs), describing the current size of the legislature as excessive, when he shared his views at the Ninth Zonal Public Engagement organized by the CRC in Sunyani.  Rev Fr Domfeh also suggested the need for the nation to make reforms on the Freedom of Expression to stem abuse.  Other participants who spoke during the open for...

The Western Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has organised a mid-year religious Thanksgiving Service at the forecourt of its Headquarters at Fijai in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis. Banda Assembly announces death of District Police Commander    

The Banda District Assembly in the Bono Region has announced the death of Police Superintendent Kofi Oduro Amponsah, the Banda District Police Commander.  According to Mr Peter Dongi, the Banda District Chief Executive, the late Supt Amponsah, 56 years, died after a short illness.  He described him as a very kind man and hardworking. Mr Dongi gave the announcement when addressing the First Ordinary General Meeting of the Ninth Assembly held at Banda-Ahenkro, the district capital. He said the district would remember the late police commander for his instrumental role towards the peaceful conduct of the 2024 Election in the area, saying “in fact Supt Amponsah served the district with dedication and commitment, and his passing will be deeply felt by all”. Mr Dongi conveyed the assembly’s symp...

The maps Identify geographic areas where women are disproportionately impacted by cimate change due to a combination of cimate hazards, exposure, and existng gender inequalities.
