The Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region has arrested twelve (12) suspects in a series of intelligence-led operations targeting robbery activities across the region.
According to the police, the coordinated operations were carried out at various locations following sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering aimed at curbing rising criminal incidents.
Out of the twelve suspects apprehended, three have been directly linked to the murder of a Kusasi Chief at Asawase in Kumasi. The killing, which shocked residents and heightened security concerns in the area, is now a key focus of ongoing investigations.

Police officials say the arrests mark a significant breakthrough in efforts to dismantle robbery networks operating within the region. They added that investigations are still underway to identify and apprehend other accomplices connected to both the robbery cases and the chief’s murder.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be processed for court in the coming days.
The police have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring safety and maintaining law and order, urging residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information.
