Manhyia Palace Issues Safety Directives Ahead of Asantehemaa’s Final Funeral Rites

The Manhyia Palace has released a public announcement reminding chiefs, traditional leaders, and members of the public attending the final burial rites (Dote Yie) of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa (1927–2025), to strictly comply with safety regulations put in place for the ceremony scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025. KNUST to Suspend Academic and Commercial Activities on September 18 in Honour of Late Asantehemaa

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced that it will suspend work and all commercial activities on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in compliance with a directive from the Manhyia Palace. Asantehene Announces Passing of Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has formally announced the death of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, bringing an era of dedicated service to Asanteman to a close. Speaking at an Asanteman Council meeting held at the Manhyia Palace on Monday, August 11, the Asantehene confirmed that the revered queen mother passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 91. The one-week observance for the late Asantehemaa will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in line with Ashanti tradition.
