Police Rescue Stolen Newborn Baby; Female Suspect Arrested at Mamprobi
The Mamprobi District Police Command has rescued a stolen newborn baby boy and arrested a female suspect following a reported child-stealing incident at the Mamprobi Polyclinic.
According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, when an unidentified woman allegedly disguised herself as a nurse and unlawfully entered the postnatal ward of the facility. The suspect reportedly made away with a four-day-old baby boy belonging to Precious Ankomah.
After what authorities described as intensive investigations, officers from the Dansoman Divisional Command arrested Latifa Salifu on Wednesday, 18 February 2026. She was reportedly found with the infant at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
