KNUST to Suspend Academic and Commercial Activities on September 18 in Honour of Late Asantehemaa
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has announced that it will suspend work and all commercial activities on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in compliance with a directive from the Manhyia Palace.
The directive, issued by the Palace, calls for the closure of shops, schools, and corporate institutions in Kumasi as part of arrangements for the final burial rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Mr. Benjamin B. Owusu, Esq., the University noted that “all shops and commercial establishments operating on the University campus are to take note of this directive.” Normal academic and administrative activities are expected to resume on Friday, September 19, 2025.
