Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) have once again asserted their dominance in inter-school football after defeating Opoku Ware School (OWASS) 1–0 in the final of the 2025–26 Ashanti Regional Inter-School and College Boys Soccer Competition. The keenly contested final was played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The hard-fought victory saw OKESS successfully defend their title and clinch a record 10th Ashanti Regional championship, further strengthening their reputation as one of the most successful football schools in the region.
Golden Kick Sporting Club forward Joshua Fuseini emerged as the hero of the final, scoring the decisive goal to sink the 1998 champions, OWASS. Fuseini’s strike proved enough to separate the two sides in a tightly contested encounter.

The prolific attacker finished the tournament as the overall top scorer with five goals. This feat comes on the back of last season’s top scorer award, where he netted four goals, bringing his total tally in the competition to nine goals across two seasons. Remarkably, Fuseini, a Form Two student, has now won two Ashanti Regional titles and two top scorer awards, with another year still available to compete.
OKESS’ march to the title was marked by consistency and discipline. They began their campaign with a convincing 4–1 victory over Esaase Bontefufuo SHS in the Round of 32.
In the Round of 16, they drew 1–1 with St. Hubert SHS before advancing 3–2 on penalties. The quarter-finals saw OKESS secure a 2–0 win over Adu Gyamfi SHS, followed by an emphatic 3–0 triumph against Our Lady of Grace (OLAG) in the semi-finals. Their campaign was sealed with a narrow 1–0 win over OWASS in the final.
Goalkeeper Suleiman Latif, Black Starlets midfielder Hakim Kassim and the OKESS defensive unit delivered impressive performances throughout the tournament, while Joshua Fuseini consistently provided the cutting edge in attack.
With this latest success, OKESS have now claimed their 10th Ashanti Regional Inter-School Boys Soccer title, reaffirming their status as a powerhouse in Ghana’s inter-school football scene.
