Government Boosts Ghana Immigration Service with 20 Vehicles

The Government has reinforced the operational capacity of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) with the donation of twenty (20) Nissan Navara pickup vehicles to enhance mobility and efficiency across the country.

The vehicles were officially handed over by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, who said the support forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s security architecture. He noted that improved mobility is critical to the effective discharge of the Service’s mandate, particularly in responding swiftly to operational demands.

Hon. Muntaka stressed the importance of accountability and urged officers to ensure the vehicles are used strictly for official duties. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to resourcing security agencies in line with the President’s vision for improved national security, while commending the Ghana Immigration Service for its dedication and professionalism.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Service, the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr Samuel Basintale Amadu, described the donation as a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to equipping security agencies to operate effectively.

He said the vehicles fulfil the President’s pledge to resource the Ghana Immigration Service and will significantly support border patrols and other operational activities. Mr Amadu assured the Minister that the vehicles would be deployed responsibly and properly maintained to enhance the Service’s work nationwide.
