GES Interdicts Obuasi SHS Headmaster Over Alleged Sexual Misconduct

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted the Headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, Mr Zakaria Abdulai, over allegations of sexual misconduct involving students, pending a full-scale investigation into the matter. The interdiction took immediate effect, according to a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations of the GES, Daniel Fenyi. Mr Abdulai was directed to make himself available to assist with the investigation and hand over the management of the school to the Ashanti Regional Director of Education. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country to stop turning away duly admitted boarding students because they report to school with metal trunks, wooden chop boxes or other personal storage containers.
