Bawumia to Deliver Keynote at LSE Africa Summit 2026 on AI and Continental Unity

Former Vice President of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to deliver the keynote address at the 2026 LSE Africa Summit, scheduled to take place at the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

The summit, themed “Artificial Intelligence and Unifying Borders in Africa,” will bring together policymakers, academics, business leaders, and students from across the continent and beyond to explore how emerging technologies can foster integration and drive sustainable development in Africa.

Dr. Bawumia, who served as Ghana’s Vice President from 2017 to 2025, is expected to share insights on the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in governance, trade, and cross-border collaboration. His address will likely highlight the importance of digital innovation in breaking down traditional barriers and accelerating Africa’s economic integration.

The LSE Africa Summit has, over the years, become a significant platform for dialogue on Africa’s development trajectory, often featuring influential leaders and experts. This year’s focus on AI reflects growing global interest in how the technology can address challenges such as limited infrastructure, financial inclusion, and regional trade inefficiencies.

Participants at the summit will engage in panel discussions, networking sessions, and policy dialogues aimed at harnessing AI to unify African markets and strengthen cooperation among nations.

Dr. Bawumia’s keynote is anticipated to set the tone for discussions, offering a forward-looking perspective on how Africa can leverage innovation to redefine its future in an increasingly digital world.
