The Western Central Regional Police Command has apprehended two suspects believed to be involved in an attempted robbery near Asankraguah in the Western Region.
The suspects, identified as 28-year-old Mohammed Abdul-Salam and 42-year-old Karim Yakubu, were found hiding in a bush along a section of the road. Their suspicious behavior drew the attention of a nearby police patrol team. Upon spotting the officers, the two suspects attempted to flee the scene, leading to a dramatic pursuit.
According to the police, the chase ended at an abandoned mining site, where the suspects tried to escape by jumping into a muddy pit. Police officers quickly moved in and rescued the duo from the pit before taking them into custody.

A subsequent search at the scene led to the recovery of a shotgun, three AAA cartridges, and a Nokia keypad mobile phone believed to belong to the suspects.
The two men are currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety and urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
