Ashanti Regional NPP Caucus Condemns MP Kwaku Asante Boateng’s Comments on “Slaves for War” Remarks
The Ashanti Regional Caucus of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has strongly condemned and distanced itself from comments attributed to Honourable Kwaku Asante Boateng, Member of Parliament for Asante Akim South, suggesting that the Ashantis historically “used slaves for war” and that such people and their descendants are not entitled to leadership positions within the Party.
In a statement issued by the Caucus, the group described the comments as “deeply offensive” and contrary to the principles of unity, respect, and equality that define the NPP.
“The Ashanti Regional Caucus completely disassociates itself from this narrative and condemns it in no uncertain terms,” the statement read.
