The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced that the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor (MP), will on Saturday, 11th October 2025, officially commission a series of completed rural electrification projects in several communities within the Central Gonja District of the Savanna Region. The beneficiary communities include Zomlampe, Nikpegu, Torope, Dokope, Kpatinyan, Darivogupe, Bagpe, Dawunipe, Diwurupe, Larigbani, Mammudupe, Sankaupe, and Nyinyape. ECG Clarifies Disconnection of Believers Worship Centre Over GH¢308,741.16 Debt

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has explained the circumstances surrounding the recent disconnection of power supply to the Believers Worship Centre, led by Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah. According to ECG, the church’s electricity supply was cut off on August 26, 2025, due to an accumulated outstanding bill of GH¢308,741.16. The company stressed that the action formed part of its standard operational procedures and was not intended to single out or inconvenience the church. Suspected ECG cable thief electrocuted to death at Adoato

A young man, suspected to have attempted to steal an earthen wire (cable) at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Substation at Adoato in the Ashanti Region has been electrocuted to death. The deceased, believed to be in his late thirties, was with the cable and a plier when his lifeless body was found in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025. Speaking with Ghana News Agency, Mr Benjamin Obeng Antwi, the Ashanti West Public Relations Officer of the ECG, said the Police had taken the body to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy. Two Arrested for Transporting Suspected Stolen ECG Cables in Central Region

The Central Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the transportation of electricity cables believed to belong to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). The suspects, Mohammed Sulemana and Iddrisu Basit, both driver’s mates of an articulated truck, were apprehended on April 1, 2025, at Gomoa Awombrew in the Central Region. The truck, bearing registration number GC 7410-11, was found loaded with 28 rims of ECG cables and parked in the area under suspicious circumstances. According to ECG officials, led by their Operations Officer, Mr. David Ackom, the cables were confirmed to be the company’s property.
