CHAN Qualifiers: Ghana, Nigeria first-leg encounter ends in scoreless stalemate

The Black Galaxies were held to a goalless draw by Nigeria in the first leg encounter of the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) final qualifier. The match, which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, finished in a draw, setting up a thrilling second leg in Nigeria next week. Black Galaxies coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani named a strong starting lineup with Kotoko striker Albert Amoah leading the charge. CAF Executive Committee and 54 Member Associations Presidents to meet on Monday in Marrakech

The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) will hold an Executive Committee (“EXCO”) meeting on Monday, 16 December 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco. The meeting, to be chaired by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, will start at 09h30 local time (08h30 GMT/ 10h30 Cairo time). The Executive Committee will also discuss the 2025 CAF Calendar, amongst other matters. The CAF Executive Committee will be followed by a meeting of the 54 CAF Member Associations Presidents, CAF EXCO and CAF President Dr Motsepe at 11h00 local time (10h00 GMT/ 12h00 Cairo time).

CAF maps out road to Poland 2026: U-20 Women’s World Cup African Qualifiers Draw completed 

The path to the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland has been officially charted as the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF)  conducted the qualifiers draw at its headquarters in Cairo on Thursday. The tournament, scheduled for August 2026, will feature 24 nations, including four representatives from Africa. A total of 38 African teams are vying for the four coveted slots, with the qualifiers set to unfold over four knockout rounds of home-and-away fixtures. Qualifiers Format First Round: The 12 lowest-ranked teams, based on previous U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers performance, will contest in this round.
