Akufo-Addo Pays Tribute to Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings at Burial Service
Former President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has described the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings as one of the most impactful Ghanaian women of her generation, whose legacy championed the advancement and empowerment of women.
At her solemn burial service on Friday, 28th November 2025, the former President hailed her as “the embodiment of the women’s struggle for self-empowerment”, noting that her activism and influence transcended Ghana to reach the wider African continent.
President Akufo-Addo also fondly recalled appointing Nana Konadu to lead Ghana’s delegation to South Africa in 2018 for the funeral of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, despite her not being a supporter or affiliate of his administration at the time.
